Spend your day off of school getting creative at Follow Your Art! We’ll explore many corners of the creative world in this engaging program for grades K-5.
November 3rd, 9 AM-2 PM
9-11 AM:
This is colorful, outside the box creating at its finest – we will explore the many ways that artists can incorporate the natural world into their works, from bringing in natural textures, to portraying landscapes both real and imagined – there are so many options to explore!
11 AM-12 PM:
Lunch and Movement break – we’ll also gather materials for our afternoon project!
12 PM-2 PM:
Artists will have access to a variety of materials inspiring creativity and testing new innovative ways to build with materials found in nature. Artists will be given instruction and prompts to experiment with these materials, with the intention of developing at least one piece made entirely of natural materials that can be placed outside!
November 11th, 9 AM – 2 PM
9-11 AM:
This is art all about shapes! Artists will explore the importance of shapes through painting, sculpture, drawing, and even collaging. We will explore creating shapes with paint, sculpting materials, and different drawing materials to create abstract or representational pieces- maybe we’ll even invent some new ones along the way!
11 AM-12 PM:
Lunch and Movement break – we’ll also gather materials for our afternoon project!
12 PM-2 PM:
Artists will be given open-ended access to materials and inspiration, as well as prompts for creative challenges for artists to create their own projects. Artists will be encouraged to use a mix of materials in their artwork. Today, we will also focus on making at least one piece of artwork that is meant to share with others!
