Follow Your Art Strategic Plan 2025-2030
Looking Ahead
From 2025–2030, Follow Your Art Community Studios will focus on deepening its core strengths—high-quality creative programs, inclusive community engagement, and a vibrant creative home—while solidifying the financial and physical foundations that will allow the organization to thrive for decades to come. Read below to see our goals through 2030.
Creative Programs
We will sustain high-quality, inclusive creative programing while increasing overall participation, maximizing space utilization, and strengthening key offerings. By 2030 we aim to:
- Grow annual enrollments by 20%, and maintain 95–100% enrollment in summer and vacation programming
- Expand contracted off-site programs, including curriculum-aligned options for K–12 partners.
Creatives in Residence (Artists & Writers)
We will deepen FYACS’s role as a creative home by maximizing studio use, strengthening the Writers in Residence program, and enhancing the resident experience. By 2030 we aim to:
- Reach full occupancy of AIR studios and grow Writers in Residence membership
- Update residency agreements and cultivate a strong sense of belonging among CIRs
- Expand opportunities for residents to teach, exhibit, and participate in professional development
Community & DEIB Initiatives
We will strengthen FYACS as a vibrant and inclusive community hub that reflects the diversity of the region and actively reduces barriers to participation. By 2030 we aim to:
- Increase Arts for All scholarships and expand adaptive supports and free/low-cost offerings
- Develop collaborations with community partners that serve under-resourced and underrepresented groups
- Implement community feedback mechanisms to inform programming and growth
Administration & Organizational Infrastructure
We will build a resilient, well-supported staff team and streamlined systems that support growth, sustain leadership, and facilitate transitions. By 2030 we aim to:
- Fully integrate updated registration, scheduling, and reporting
- Update HR policies and create training manuals and organizational calendars for core roles
- Evolve the organizational structure to support leadership, growth, and enhanced marketing
Resource Development & Financial Stability
We will advance financial stability and growth through donor stewardship, strategic campaigns, and grant management. By 2030 we aim to:
- Increase annual giving, event-based fundraising, and the sustaining donor program
- Improve donor retention, and implement a donor stewardship strategy
- Broaden grant seeking beyond local and state sources to include large, multi-year grants
Facilities Management & Property Ownership
Secure long-term ownership of The Big Yellow House and establish proactive facilities management that supports program growth and community use. By 2030 we aim to:
- Complete the “Buy the Big Yellow House” campaign and establish a designated maintenance and renovation reserve
- Formalize the Property Manager role, and conduct a building condition assessment
- Use space planning and capital improvements to enhance accessibility, strengthen high-demand programs, and increase capacity for community events and rentals
