Teen Outdoor Drawing

July 9 @ 10:00 am July 11 @ 12:00 pm

Spend some time outside and sharpen your drawing skills on three summer mornings. No matter what field of study your teen may be preparing for, learning to draw should be part of that preparation. Michele Lauriat teaches drawing with an eye toward skill building, increasing confidence and creativity, sharpening observation skills and attention to detail.

This class will meet outside the Big Yellow House, and then move to Ell Pond. Supplies are NOT provides for this class – see list below. If you have any concerns about supplies, email programs@fyamelrose.org, and we will be happy to help!

Sketchbook – 11×14 or smaller, about 50 pages.
You will have to hold your sketchbook while drawing so it shouldn’t be too big – wirebound recommended so that you can fold pages back.

2B Pencil
Pencil Sharpener (or several sharpened pencils)
Eraser (anything but a pink one – they are usually hard and can damage paper)
12 inch ruler
Hat with brim – to keep the sun out of your face and help you see what you’re drawing
Camp chair – we will be working around Ell pond – there are some benches and grass, but you are welcome to bring your own chair if it would be more comfortable!
