Live from the Living Room presents…
In Real Life: Living Room Stories
A Community Storytelling Event
Saturday January 28th, 7:00-9:00 pm
Open to All at The Big Yellow House
647 Main Street, Melrose MA
Please join us for an evening of storytelling and listening with hosts Rilda Kissel and Christopher Robinson. Come with an idea for a five-minute true story from your life, and let’s try out our stories together in a low-key, laid-back night. Not interested in telling a story just yet? Come and listen to others. For this first Living Room Stories event we are thrilled to host Rilda Kissel will be featured as a teller for this evening.
NEW! Storyteller Rilda Kissel will give a free “Storytelling 101” talk at 6:30. There will be time for questions and refreshments before the main event begins at 7:00. Questions? Join the Facebook event and ask away!
This event is open to everyone. Donations at the door are gratefully accepted to further our work creating community events like this.
About In Real Life (IRL)
IRL started as a collaboration with Melrose Organizes for Real Equality (MORE), a grassroots organization dedicated to centering diverse voices in Melrose and surrounding communities. Since 2018, IRL has organized 5 larger community storytelling events with themes like “Home,” “American Like Me,” and “Who Do You Think You Are?”
As we continue to build a storytelling culture in Melrose, FYACS will host small storytelling events as part of our Live from the Living Room series, to provide a safe, supportive and low-key environment to practice telling and listening. We invite you to help us grow our storytelling community!
