IRL: Living Room Stories March 18th

Live from the Living Room presents…

In Real Life: Living Room Stories

A Community Storytelling Event

Saturday March 18th, 7:00-9:00 pm

Open to All at The Big Yellow House

647 Main Street, Melrose MA

Please join us for an evening of storytelling and listening with hosts Rilda Kissel and Christopher Robinson. Come with a prepared five-minute true story from your life, and let’s try out our stories together in a low-key, laid-back night. Not interested in telling a story just yet? Come and listen to others. We will have a featured storyteller kick off the evening. New storytellers welcome — we will prioritize you!

This event is open to everyone. Donations at the door are gratefully accepted to further our work creating community events like this.

We welcome persons with disabilities and of all identities and world views. Please reach out to Kris Rodolico (krodolico@fyamelrose.org) to share any disability related accommodation that you will need to participate in or experience the event.

About In Real Life (IRL)

IRL started as a collaboration with Melrose Organizes for Real Equality (MORE), a grassroots organization dedicated to centering diverse voices in Melrose and surrounding communities. Since 2018, IRL has organized 5 larger community storytelling events with themes like “Home,” “American Like Me,” and “Who Do You Think You Are?”

As we continue to build a storytelling culture in Melrose, FYACS will host small storytelling events as part of our Live from the Living Room series, to provide a safe, supportive and low-key environment to practice telling and listening. We invite you to help us grow our storytelling community!

We will be collaborating with the Melrose Commission on Disability this year to host a larger storytelling event in June that centers the stories of individuals with disabilities. To learn more, please email Kris Rodolico at krodolico@fyamelrose.org.
